Goa has a lot of secret nooks and hidden wonders; there’s a lot to do and see in this beautiful state- so where do you begin? A photographer whose work has taken her all across Goa, Netraa takes us on a stroll through some of the charms of Goa.
Known as Goa’s Latin Quarter, this beautiful neighbourhood is known for its colourful homes and Portuguese-inspired architecture. Take a leisurely walk down the cobbled streets and admire the whimsy and charm of each house. Fontainhas is somehow both quiet and very popular– it has been recently recognised as a UNESCO Heritage site. This is the perfect spot to whip out that camera and test your skills; it’s a safe shot, we can guarantee the photos will be beautiful.
This beach is a hidden treasure along the Southern coast of Goa. Walk down the steps to the beach and spend a day at this gorgeous lagoon that is closeted by forests. The beach is as pristine as it is uncrowded; don’t expect a lot of shacks or conveniences. Do expect the perfect beach day, though.
The Basilica of Bom Jesus attracts hundreds of visitors, but perched on a hill nearby is the beautiful Chapel of Our Lady of the Mount. An abandoned church that boasts a stunning panoramic view, this spot attracts few visitors but offers a wholly spiritual experience all the same.
Take a little time off from your hectic travel schedule to unwind at this wellness cafe in Assagao. Spend the day reading and lounging around their lovely garden with a steady supply of juice, coffee and food to keep you going. If you’re looking to spend some time with your kids and pets too, this is the place for it.
This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the charms of Goa, so visit the Urbanaut App for the whole scoop, and make sure to bookmark these spots so you remember what to do in Goa on your next trip!
