We know Goa for the sandy beaches, amazing local cuisine and cold beer at the shacks by the sea. There’s other sides to Goa too, the architecture and history, verdant forests and some truly fine dining. Here’s a quick go-to list of some of our favourite drinking and dining haunts in Goa.
As the name suggests, this spot has been much-loved throughout its life, despite having changed locations multiple times. Now located in Assagao, this award-winning restaurant is helmed by Chef Saleem and has been lauded for creating a dining experience that focuses on fresh, locally sourced ingredients and regional recipes.
Indulge in high-end Burmese cuisine at this spot that has become something of an institution. They’re not open during the monsoon, so make sure to call ahead before you visit!
This quaint restaurant doesn’t exactly count as a fine-dining, but it is charming all the same. The food is excellent, with a seasonally shifting menu as the restaurant hosts chefs from all over the world, and the cherry on the cake is their Gin Bar, which ensures you’ll visit again sometime.
We don’t recommend that you settle down for a meal at Cohiba, but it’s an excellent spot for a night out dancing with your friends. Unwind in their large outdoor area and enjoy live music on weekends––with a drink in hand, of course. When you’re done, head over to one of the other spots for dinner!
