Our Favourite Coffee Spots

As the coffee lovers out there can confirm, there’s a lot of debate surrounding which cafes are truest to the art of brewing the perfect cup. The possibilities are numerous, but we think we’re getting closer to the answer. In the meantime, why not debate over a cuppa at one of these locations across India? We’ve heard great things. Here’s a list of our favourite coffee spots from around the country.

G Shot Roastery and Cafe: Goa

Our insider information tells us that this is the best coffee to be found in North Goa, and it comes coupled with a great food menu. Try the avocado and poached egg along with their classic double espresso for the full effect, and buy some coffee roast on your way out.

Third Wave Coffee: Bangalore

Single origin coffee sourced from local estates across South India. The locally grown beans are home-roasted, serving you a fresh brew at one of their lovely outlets. Great place to work or set up a quick rendezvous with friends.

Zen Cafe: Mumbai

Tucked into a corner of Kala Ghoda in South Bombay, this serene and welcoming cafe lives up to its name. A great work spot, this is also the perfect place to stop over while you explore the design and boutique stores that fill the area.

Minimal Coffee: Mysore

The one-stop shop in Mysore for everything coffee. Visit this specialty coffee cafe if you’re a true connoisseur, and enjoy some of your favourite drinks. They also offer alternatives to milk, if you prefer that. A chat with the owner Ashwin is an extra bonus for those who would love some insight into the art of roasts and brews.

Indian Coffee House: Pondicherry

Reminiscent of a simpler time, visit Indian Coffee House (in a recently restored Franco-Tamil building) for a steaming cup of filter coffee. Settle down under the high ceilings with a loved one for a long and leisurely chat. There are many Indian Coffee House outlets in Pondy, so visit the Urbanaut app for directions to our favourite one.

Chafa Cafe and Studio: Pune

Relaxing ambience that embodies slow living, this cafe is great for a nutritious, organic meal. They have a studio space where fitness and yoga sessions are held; grab a smoothie after your workout or just settle down here with a cuppa for a wholesome workday.

Cafe Dori: Delhi

Minimalist decor in a spacious location and a beautiful bespoke store that you can browse through while you eat. Cafe Dori is located in the Dhan Mill compound of Chattarpur, home to a number of boutiques, design stores and performance spaces. Oh, and they have great coffee too.

While are some of our favourite coffee spots out there, we know there are more. For more recommendations like this, visit the Urbanaut App (available for both Android and iOS). While you’re at it, make sure to bookmark these spots and save them for later!
