Catch the best sunsets in Goa

Blue sky, sunny day, sand underfoot and a chilled drink in your hand. Sounds like paradise? It does, and it also sounds like the classic Goa experience that we never get tired of. There’s still a few months of good weather in store, so we’ve put down some of the best places to catch a perfect Goan sunset, just to get you planning–– not that you really need the encouragement!

Chapel of Our Lady of the Mount:
Located near the iconic Basilica of Bom Jesus, this abandoned church gives a lot more than you would expect. Visit this stunning property for some calm and quiet. Bonus points if you go around sunset or sunrise for sweeping views of the Mandovi river.

Reis Magos Fort
This recently restored fort in Bardez, Goa is definitely one to visit. Put aside a few hours to visit and take in the cannons, the breathtaking views and explore a gallery dedicated to one of Goa’s most beloved cartoonists – Mario Miranda. There’s a lot of adventure to be re-lived, and even special exhibitions on display. Of course, you can skip all that and just watch the sunset.

Anahata Retreat
This beachfront property with a variety of rooms available is pretty much everything you  can want. If you’re not planning a stay here, visit to grab a bite (we suggest ordering a pizza), and maybe attend a quick yoga lesson to limber up before the hearty meal! Oh and yes, the yoga shalas have some of the most exquisite views, so it’s three birds with one (beach).

Last but not least, it’s hard to forget the lovely Goan beaches and the sunset views they provide. Find our recommendations for which beach you should visit (and why), only on the Urbanaut App! Download it now.
